Table Salt vs. Pool Salt in Salt Water Pool System? - pool table supplies

Is there a real difference in the type of salt, what I do for my salt water pool system? I place the bag of 50 pounds of Smart & Final $ 5 over 40 pounds "Bag of Salt Pool $ 10 from my local pool supply company, are they both the salt in the same way if they do not use rock salt? Any advice is appreciated. Thank you!:)
